(Salisbury, MA) For the past four years, the historic Pavilion complex has revived the shores of Salisbury Beach providing a unique, first-rate oceanfront dining, event and entertainment experience for thousands of guests.   Now, the oceanfront landmark announces 2nd floor expansion plans that include a 400-person event center, 200-person function room, and Blue Sky Lounge – all with exceptional panoramic ocean views.

Slated to open in 2014, Atlantic Hospitality Group, LLC (AHG) is advancing Salisbury Beach’s first oceanfront expansion of this kind in nearly five years. When completed, the addition of the 2nd floor event spaces will create the largest oceanfront venue on Boston’s North Shore totaling 25,000 square feet with an interior capacity of 1,000+ people across four large, distinctive rooms.

The 26,000-square foot Pavilion building located directly on Salisbury Beach is currently home to Seaglass Restaurant and Lounge, Blue Ocean Music Hall and By the Sea Gift Shop. Owned by AHG, the group also operates the adjacent Capri Seaside Italian Grille and SurfSide Restaurant, Bar and massive deck on the Atlantic Ocean.

“The view from the Pavilion’s second floor is unparalleled,” said owner and longtime Salisbury businessman and resident Wayne Capolupo. “We have been contemplating this expansion since we first set-out to create the unforgettable destination experience that now encompasses Seaglass Restaurant and Events, Blue Ocean Music Hall, and By the Sea Gift Shop. The new oceanfront space will give guests even more opportunities to experience our beautiful coastline, create a much-needed regional conference and event center, and continue the revival of Salisbury Beach.”

The design, by Gienapp Design & Architecture of Danvers, features extensive glass and window elements to afford magnificent floor to ceiling ocean views from the moment guests step foot into the upstairs lobby. The concept for the renovation is to incorporate elements of the natural beach below infused with harmonious textures and soothing ocean-inspired colors. The new spaces include:

Blue Ocean Event Center                        8,500+/- square feet                        Capacity: 400

Ideal for trade shows, expos, conferences, traveling exhibitions, indoor craft shows and festivals, the Event Center will offer wi-fi technology, on-site meeting planning, set-up and security services, and the framework to produce audio-visual events with ease. Two walls of oversized ocean-facing picture windows will feature sweeping views of the Atlantic coastline from Salisbury to New Hampshire.

Atlantic Ballroom                        2,000+/- square feet                        Capacity: 200-250

The elegant multi-purpose ocean-facing function room offers the perfect setting for wedding ceremonies, showers and receptions of all kinds, and an inspirational environment for corporate meetings and private presentations. The Seaglass culinary team will cater continental breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner entrees from a second level kitchen.

Blue Sky Lounge & Food Court                        1,000 square feet                        Capacity: 50

Conveniently situated between the Event Center and SkyView Room, this 32-foot-wide bar and food service area will offer varied menu selections from passed hors d’oeuvres at receptions and a soup, salad, grill and sandwich menu at meetings and conferences, to grab and go food at festivals and creative small plate offerings when the lounge is open to the public.

In addition to the above spaces, there are also three meeting rooms that hold between 12 and 20 guests.

The 2009 Pavilion building renovation is heralded for its contemporary waterfront chic architecture and landmark presence as part of the Salisbury Beach skyline. A vintage Salisbury Beach classic since the 1970’s, the Pavilion complex was originally the site of Shaheen’s Fun-O-Rama Amusement Park, an arcade and The Beach Club, a 600-person nightclub that hosted national performers. After a complete first floor restoration in 2009, the Pavilion property reopened featuring the upscale casual, award-winning Seaglass Restaurant and Lounge, a state-of-the-art music and event venue–Blue Ocean Music Hall, and smaller function rooms, making it the premier destination on Salisbury Beach.

The Pavilion at Salisbury Beach offers an array of on-property amenities, from top rated restaurants to stylish meeting rooms:
